1) I don't want to cover my windows but the room gets so hot in the summer and I'm starting to see some UV damage. What can I do?
Answer: There are several products that will control heat and UV damage and when pulled up will take up such a small space at the top of the window that most people won't even notice them. If you have a beautiful view there are blinds that will even let you keep that view while controlling heat and UV damage.
2) There are so many products available today ! How do I choose the right one?
Answer: It can seem overwhelming, there are far more blinds and shades than there were even 15 years ago. However, different blinds provide different functions and are aesthetically different. When I come into your home and see your windows and decor and we discuss how you want the window covering to work for you it usually narrows the field dramatically and you are able to choose from a manageable number of products that suit your needs.
3) Why is Hunter Douglas your brand of choice?
Answer:
a) Selection: the widest and the deepest in to day's market. They offer more blinds, shades, and shadings than any other company and each product has a wide selection of colours and styles .A number of products have a good, better and best line. If your budget isn't set for the best or you don't want to spend as much on less important rooms you can still buy quality in the less expensive lines.
b) Dealer support To give the public the very best service possible it is essential that dealers and salespeople continually upgrade their knowledge of the many different and diverse products they are selling. Hunter Douglas offers extensive and on going product training to their dealers and salespeople. A few years ago I completed a dealer certification program and have recently reached the gold level in the current Hunter Douglas Institute training program.
c) Warranties Most products have a "Limited Lifetime Warranty" and I'm impressed by the way they stand behind it. d) Leadership and Innovation For over 50 years they have led the way in window coverings. From the first flexible aluminum blind and the first honeycomb shade, to the revolutionary Silhouette window shadings and Luminette Privacy Sheers they have combined the best features of blinds, shades and draperies. This too is on going, they continue to improve and add to their product line.
4) How far away can I live and still get your no charge shop at home service? Answer: About 40 km. from Thornbury. Although much of our work is done in the Blue Mountain and Thornbury area we have customers in the Collingwood, Duntroon, Eugenia, Kimberly, Rocklyn, Massie and Meaford areas.
5) If I have air conditioning why do I need blinds? Answer:
a) Air conditioners don't protect your furnishings from UV damage.
b) Tremendous amounts of heat come through windows facing south, east or west, especially large windows, and this puts an extra burden on your air conditioner. If you don't cover your windows on hot sunny days it's a bit like turning the furnace on while you are air conditioning.
